Chess with Grandmaster
This course can be taught in the following languages: English, Armenian, Russian, Persian
The hourly cost for this course is: 50 EUR
The content of this course will heavily depend on the current chess play level of the student. More advanced players will have more advanced topics covered, whereas less advanced players will start by studying all major concepts and topics. An indicative, inexhaustive list of such concepts and topics includes:
Gambits.
A chess opening in which a player offers a pawn (or more) for fast development and an attackā¤
Endgames.
The stage of the game with few pieces or when Queens are exchanged and the middle game is over.
Middlegames.
The part of the game which follows the opening.
Defense.
An opening played by Black, or a series of moves taken to protect a piece or position which is under attack.
Discovered checks.
A check is given by a line-piece when a shielding piece or pawn is moved out of the way.
Pins.
When a piece does not move because doing so would expose a more valuable piece to capture.
Sacrifices.
The intentional loss of material to get a more important result.
Stalemates.
Where a player is not in check, but has no legal moves. It is a draw in modern chess.
Threefold Repetitions.
A player can claim a draw if the same position occurs three times, or will occur after their next move, with the same player to move. The repeated positions do not need to occur in succession.
Zugzwang positions.
A position, usually in an ending, where the player to move loses because they must move.
